Problem Solving: Moving Dual Enrollment Online, a CLP Webinar series

To support dual enrollment practitioners across California as instruction and student services moved online, CLP hosted a series of problem-solving webinars in spring 2020. Topics included implementing emergency guidance, online forms, outreach and recruitment, and orientation and onboarding.

Reflecting on Implementation and Planning for the Future, June 4

To wrap up the spring webinar series, participants engaged in facilitated breakout rooms to look back and plan forward. Together, they reviewed past webinar topics and shared progress in implementing online tools and improving student supports during the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants then shared immediate challenges coming up in summer and fall and generated ideas for future problem-solving webinar topics.

Online Orientation and Onboarding, May 21

Stephanie Feger of Coast Community College District and Sharon Turner of the Bay Area Community College Consortium shared a vision for creating an online orientation and onboarding specifically for dual enrollment that could be utilized by many colleges. Participants then crowdsourced a list of potential topics and considerations.

Dual Enrollment Outreach and Recruitment, May 7

Glendale Community College shared strategies for outreach and recruitment including focused email, snail mail, phone and text outreach, online sessions for high school counselors and students, and a virtual college night.

Outreach for Fall Enrollment and a Regional Approach to Data Collection, April 16

We heard first how Antelope Valley College and the Antelope Valley Union High School District are problem-solving and sharing strategy as they prepare for fall enrollment. In the second part, Coast Community College District described their regional approach to data collection including a CCAP survey; and we looked at Esri data on the resource needs of our students.

Implementing Emergency Guidance, April 9

Hartnell College and Long Beach City College discussed how they are implementing emergency guidance in moving dual enrollment online.

Using Dual Enrollment Online Forms, April 2

Foothill College and Chaffey College shared how they are using electronic signatures in an online workflow, and they discussed specific technologies they use.

Dual Enrollment Practitioners Share Online Transition Challenges, March 26

In the first webinar, we heard from East Los Angeles College and Cerritos College dual enrollment practitioners, and participants shared their experience and challenges in transitioning procedures online.
