Problem Solving: Moving Dual Enrollment Online, a CLP Webinar series

April 2, 2020

To support dual enrollment practitioners across California as they move instruction and student services online, CLP is hosting a series of four conversations on Thursdays at 10 a.m., from March 26 through April 16. Join us via  Zoom here (it’s the same link every week).

  • On March 26, in the first webinar, participants shared their experiences and their approaches to changes in procedures (and to issues of longer standing!). Here’s a recording of that webinar, and here is the presentation.
  • On April 2, we focused on using online forms. Foothill College and Chaffey College shared how they are using electronic signatures in an online workflow, and they discussed specific technologies they use. Here is the recording. and here is the presentation.
    • Our brief “Dual Enrollment: Moving to an Electronic Form” summarizes an event CLP convened to brainstorm how to improve on the paper-based enrollment process. Click through to read about possible next steps for removing this barrier to participation and equity.

We will continue posting additional material, including edited transcripts, at this link as it becomes available.

Here is a quick guide for participants new to Zoom.

And here are links to a variety of resources for dual enrollment students, instructors, and institutions.

The Chancellors Office also released a memo about Emergency Technology Resources for College Responses to COVID 19 — which include Adobe Sign, which the California Secretary of State has certified as legally binding if needed in place of “wet” (in-person) signatures.

If you would like to raise specific questions about challenges you are facing, creative ideas or approaches, please complete our survey any time.

Finally, to continue these conversations and share additional resources, we have created a Dual Enrollment Community of Practice on Basecamp. Please email Eder Flores to be added and he will send you a message with instructions on how to join.

This webinar series is produced by Career Ladders Project with funding from the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office and the College Futures Foundation.
