Equitable Dual Enrollment: Lessons from a Community of Practice
March 14, 2023
11:00 am - 12:30 pm
Dual enrollment aligned with the Vision for Success, the California Community College Roadmap, and the pillars of guided pathways enables students from groups historically underrepresented in higher education to access and succeed in college coursework for credit. It is a powerful lever for closing equity gaps, extending pathways, and accelerating the completion of degrees and credentials. Dual enrollment has been growing statewide over the past several years, and California recently initiated new funding opportunities to support that expansion.
CLP and the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office have collaborated to support a Dual Enrollment Community of Practice with a specific focus on equity—from access, to student supports, and through to completion. Five college and high school partnerships in the community of practice have been exploring how to build more equitable dual enrollment. Join the webinar to hear how they have leveraged the learnings in the community practice to develop more equitable dual enrollment opportunities for their students. We will also provide an overview of the new state dual enrollment grants, and you’ll have the opportunity to hear ideas from expert practitioners on how to utilize this funding.
