— Dual Enrollment

Dual enrollment is one of the best strategies for high school students to receive early college experience. With dual enrollment, students simultaneously attain both high school and college credit and classes are generally aimed at high school students to increase smoother transition into postsecondary education. Funded by the James Irvine Foundation and in partnership with the Community College Research Center (CCRC) at Teachers College, Columbia University, the Career Ladders Project began working on the Concurrent Courses Initiative (CCI). Later the work progressed to larger dual enrollment projects that includes a toolkit and webinars generated in partnership with the California Community College Chancellor’s office and the Research and Planning Group for the California Community Colleges.
